Our beloved JoAnn Guymon Mildenhall, returned to her Father in Heaven early the morning of September 27th, 2025, at the age of 69 after a brief battle with cancer. We love her so much and will deeply miss her!

JoAnn was born June 24, 1956, in Price, Utah to Bill and LaVon Guymon; the third of four children to bless their home in nearby Huntington. Growing up, she was surrounded by a network of immediate and extended family members who loved her. Those relations continue to be very important to Mom. She learned the art of homemaking from her mother and the love of work from her dad. JoAnn jumped at any chance she got to go down to the farm . She graduated from Emery high school in 1975. Later, to the joy of her family, she chose to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Toronto, Ontario Canada.

Shortly after returning from her mission, JoAnn met her eternal companion, Scott Decker Mildenhall at a dentist office in Provo where she was working as an assistant. They were married for time and eternity on August 29th, 1980, in the Manti Temple and recently celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary. Scott and JoAnn lived in Provo for a few years while finishing school, before moving to Brigham City in 1984 where they raised their four children.

Mom had many joys, interests and talents that largely revolved around loving and caring for her family and others. JoAnn excelled at preparing and preserving the fresh produce she and Scott grew in their garden. She loved quilting and spending time outdoors, camping in the mountains, spotting bears in Yellowstone and being with her family in the San Rafael desert south of Price. She served faithfully in many church callings throughout her life but especially loved serving the young women in her ward.

JoAnn loved people! She enjoyed visiting and being with them, and learning about their lives. Above all, she loved her family; spending time teaching, working and playing with them throughout her life. JoAnn especially treasured being a grandmother. Mom enjoyed providing meals for her family, celebrating holidays and birthdays, and playing games (during which she sometimes got a little feisty). She shared her faith and love for the Savior through her care and concern for others. She will be missed, but we trust she will be near. We look forward to one day seeing her beautiful eyes and loving smile again.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents, her in-laws, Glen and Rae Mildenhall, four brothers-in-law, Ben Mildenhall, Tom Mildenhall, Dorr Hanson and Darrel Leamaster, two sisters-in-law Suzanne Mildenhall and Sheryl Mildenhall, and one nephew David Leamaster.

JoAnn is survived by her loving husband Scott; children, Jacob (Tressa) Mildenhall, Amy Mildenhall, Jennifer (Brent) Skipper, Matthew (Morgan) Mildenhall; loving siblings LaRae Leamaster, Dana Hanson and Ross Guymon; beloved grandchildren Eric, Reagan, Benjamin, Sydney, Jeffrey, Millie, Kit and Lucy, caring brothers and sisters-in-law and many beloved nieces and nephews.

The family expresses thanks to Community Nursing Services for their warm and professional care for mom during her illness. JoAnn and the kids would also like to thank Dad for his unfailing care for her.
