Sharlee "Shar" (Pebley) Woolsey, 79, of
Brigham City, Utah, passed away on
September 13, 2025, in Roy, Utah, from complications of congestive heart failure.
Shar was born on May 15, 1946, in Ogden, Utah, to Ted Pebley and Irene (Van Dusen)
Pebley. She was the only daughter with 11 brothers.
She attended Box Elder High School in
Brigham City, Utah. Throughout her life, she
pursued a variety of skills and earned training certificates in meat cutting, cosmetology,
and recreational therapy.
Shar was married to Larry Adams and later to Charles "Chuck" Royce. She was the
proud mother of two sons, Brian Adams and Wade Adams. Family was at the center of
her life, and she cherished her role as a grandmother to Cassie Adams-Durrant, Jason
Adams, Stephanie Adams-Heslop, Bryce Adams, and Hope Adams. Her joy continued
to grow with her great-grandchildren: Aden Facer, Adrienne Durrant, BrookLynn Facer,
Tessa Durrant, Jaylee Adams, and Douglas Adams.
Shar worked for many years as a waitress at the local country club, where her kindness
and warmth made her a favorite among patrons-so much so that many asked for her
to return after she left. She later dedicated herself to caring for others in multiple
retirement homes, where she organized activities and brightened the lives of countless
seniors. While working at a retirement home in Tonopah, Nevada, she found both great
joy and her greatest love, Charles "Chuck" Royce. Shar and her family were heartbroken when Chuck passed away in 2003.
She also worked at the Utah Schools for the Deaf and Blind, where her compassion and
connection to people continued to shine. It was there that she introduced her future
daughter-in-law, Lisa, to her son Brian, after noticing they shared the same birthday.
Beyond her professional life, Shar was proud to serve her community as a member of
the Box Elder Eagles Auxiliary #2919. She held many offices over the years, including
trustee, inside guard, and Jr. Past President, and was honored to serve as Madam
President from 2000 to 2001.
Shar had a lifelong love of crafting and creating "cute" things. When her grandchildren
came to visit, she always had a craft ready-whether it was painting, gluing, or building
little knick-knacks together. Later in life, she especially enjoyed diamond art, producing
many sparkling pictures that she lovingly shared with her family and friends.
Her nieces and nephews fondly remember her "special coffee," which was far more
sugar, cream, and milk than actual coffee. Shar was also known for her generous
spirit-often giving selflessly to others, even to the point of personal sacrifice, a trait
some would take advantage of.
Growing up as the only girl among her brothers, Shar's high school dating life was made
difficult by her protective siblings, who often chased suitors away. She remained
especially close to her father, proudly carrying the reputation of being a "daddy's girl."
Shar was preceded in death by her parents, Ted and Irene Pebley; and her brothers
Jerry, Dennis, Timothy, Clifford, Edward, Victor, Lester, and James.
She is survived by her brothers: Keith Pebley, Gary Pebley, and Mickey Pebley; sons: Brian Adams and Wade Adams; her grandchildren: Cassie Adams-Durrant, Jason Adams, Stephanie Adams-Heslop, Bryce Adams, and Hope Adams; and her great-grandchildren: Aden Facer, Adrienne Durrant, BrookLynn Facer, Tessa Durrant, Jaylee Adams, and Douglas Adams.
A graveside service will be held on September 25, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Brigham
City Cemetery in
Brigham City, Utah.
The family would like to thank Gil Pebley, Debbie Kelley, Dorothy Yantz, and the hospice
staff and nurses for their loving care and support.
