JoAnn B. Sferruzza

JoAnn B. Sferruzza, 89, formerly of Mt. Morris, IL, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at Allure of Pinecrest in Mt. Morris, IL.
JoAnn was born on October 5, 1935, in Harvey, IL, the daughter of Everett and Cornelia (Van Heel) Schilling. She married Steve Sferruzza on July 27, 1957, in Chicago, IL. They spent 44 beautiful years together. Retiring to Punta Gorda, FL, until Steve passed on August 25, 2001. They are now reunited together in Heaven. Being the middle child of 12 children, you would think she got lost in the mix. Quite the opposite with the Schilling clan, they were always there for each other. A bond like no other. JoAnn loved word games, playing cards, computer class, and going on cruises.
JoAnn was a loving mother to her children, Michael (Rebecca) Sferruzza of Corinth, MS, Shari (John) Starr of Oregon, IL; a wonderful grandmother to her nine grandchildren; a cherished GG to her 13 great-grandchildren; loving sister to her six siblings, Jeanne Quanstrom, Joyce Panozzo, Janice Ganz, June Burke, Janet (Thomas) Bartelli, James (Lynette) Schilling; her sister-in-law, Bea Schilling; and brothers-in-law, Albert Ruff, William Shugarman.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband; her parents, Everett and Cornelia Schilling; five siblings, Jacqueline Smardak, Judith Ruff, Jerry Schilling, Jill Shugarman, Jeffrey Schilling; and four brothers-in-law, Leonard Quanstrom, Joseph Panozzo, Elvino Ganz, William Burke.
In honor of JoAnn's wishes, there will be no services. Cremation Rites will be accorded.
