Joann Sieja, beloved teacher and cherished family member, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on July 26, 1949, in Brooklyn, New York to her parents Joseph and Mildred. Joann dedicated her life to both her profession and her family, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of those who knew her.
With a master's degree in education, Joann served as a teacher at Mary Queen of Heaven, where she not only imparted knowledge but also nurtured young minds with her kind and caring spirit. Her passion for educating future generations was evident in the dedication she brought to her teaching, making a significant impact on the community she loved.
Joann cherished her family deeply and was the loving wife of Tom Sieja. Together, they created a home filled with warmth and love. She was a devoted mother to her son Anthony, who along with his wife Graziella, will forever carry her memory in their hearts. Her grandsons, Lorenzo and Antonio, were sources of immense pride and joy for her, and she delighted in watching them grow.
Joann's personality was characterized by her kindness, compassion, and unwavering support for her loved ones. She meant the world to her family, and they will remember her fondly for the love and laughter she brought into their lives.
Visitation will be held on October 15, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Mangano Family Funeral Home, located at 1701 Deer Park Avenue, Deer Park, NY. A Mass honoring her life will take place on October 16, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Grace R.C. Church, located at 666 Albin Avenue, West Babylon, NY.
Joann Sieja will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and dedication to family and education will continue to inspire all who were touched by her life.
