Thomas C. Sieja
On this 6th day in September, in the year of 2025, I left this mortal world to finally meet my Father God, to hug Him, hold Him, sing for Him and ask Him a zillion questions. My heavenly Father totally supported me, guided me, kept His healing hand on me and stood by me all of my life. I was preceded in my heavenly trip by my father, Aloysius Sieja; and mother, Wanda; and my gorgeous older sisters, Hyacinth Mierzwiak, Lillian Rinehart; and both of their husbands, Arthur, and Jack. Still living a joyful life occasionally faced with trauma is my gorgeous sister, Joyce Marciniak (and preceded in death by her husband, Leon).
A little history of where I've been all my life. Graduated from Macomber High School in 1954, obtained my B.S. in Electrical Engineering in 1962, an M.S. in Industrial Engineering in 1965, and an M.B.A. in Business Administration in 1970, all from the University of Toledo. God blessed my career with full employment for over 60 years as an engineer and manager at Haughton Elevator Co., Owens Illinois Technical Center, Delos Palmer Consulting, Champion Spark Plug, Ford Motor Co., Doehler Jarvis Inc., Harvard Industries and Metalloy Corp. After retirement I assisted my wife in her salon (Lucia's Salon), worked at the Auto Auction and taught part time at a local Technical College. My professional career was blessed with many subordinates and co-workers who totally supported me and ensured my successful career.
A secondary career ensued after retirement when I was known as the "Golden Age Crooner" and performed singing gigs at assisted living centers, nursing homes and karaoke bars. I considered this my music ministry and the gift of a singing voice from my Father, God.
The most fantastic and amazing event in my life was marrying Lucia Mary Bulone (Sieja) on Saturday, August 9, in 1958. We were married for 49 years before "My Most Precious Treasure" left this mortal earth to spend eternity with our Father, God. We had two children, Alan (married and a partner to David Reinhart for over 30 years) and Margaret (married to Brian Shartzer for 10 years and stepmother to Zachery and Kennedy, whom I have loved as my grandchildren). Alan and Margaret were raised lovingly and impeccably by their mother and I. Lucia also had an amazing career as owner and practicing aesthetician in Lucia's Salon. She also completed her education in "Life Coaching" and counseled many of her salon clients.
On Valentine's Day in February of 2011, I married my second charming and beautiful wife, Linda Cook (Sieja). We had a wonderful life together that lasted 2 years and 10 months before she left to join our Father in heaven on December 6, 2013.
For seven years, I had been living with my pet cats, Leo and Charlene (whom both went to be with the Lord), in Atlanta, and been taken care of by my two beautiful and caring children, Alan and Margaret and their husbands, David (Alan) and Brian (Margaret). In 2023, I moved back to the Toledo area and lived with my daughter, Margaret, and her husband, Brian, where I spent the remaining days of my life in their home.
I will put in a good word to my Father, God for all the beautiful people who made my life on earth a thrilling experience. A one day visitation will be held at Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 Sylvania Ave., Toledo, Ohio, on September 11, 2025, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. There you will hear my final singing performance. The next morning, at 11 a.m., there will be a Memorial Service at the funeral home, and then a trip to Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum for interment next to my wife, Lucia.
