Joanne Catlin Obituary
Joanne was a graduate of Grand Ledge High School's class of 1946, where she formed many lifelong friendships. Her career began at Grand Ledge State Bank, where as a teller she not only managed finances with a steady hand but also met her future husband, Theo Catlin.
She is survived by her devoted children, Michael (Judy) Catlin, Brad (Patty) Catlin, Paul Catlin, and Susan (Mark) Alverson. Joanne was a cherished grandmother to Michele (Neil), John (Darcha), Mandy, Alex (Magdelana), Austen (Jon), Alana (Curtis), Parker, Monica (Eric), and Kristina (Brent). Her joy was multiplied with the addition of thirteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She leaves behind her brother, Jack (Ethelen) Herbstreit, and her nephews, Mark and Mike, and niece Debbie. Joanne was preceded in death by her parents, John and Clara (Anger) Herbstreit, her son Steven (Cora) Catlin, and the father of her children, Theo Catlin.
Joanne's zest for life was evident in her love for travel. She lived many years in Naples, Florida, embracing the warmth of the sun and the community. She was a master at throwing parties, always ensuring that her guests felt welcomed and valued. Her flower gardens were a testament to her patience and care, as she nurtured each plant and flower with the same tenderness she showed her family and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the help and care of Sparrow Home Hospice.
