Joanne Marie (Burgo) L'Huillier, 87, of Marquette, was born on August 5, 1938, and passed away on August 15, 2025.
Joanne graduated from Graveraet High School and attended St. Peters Cathedral. She retired from the City of Marquette Payroll Division.
Joanne loved baking and was well-known for her cookies, pasties and stuffed meatloafs. She also helped in cooking dinners at the Elk's club for many years. With her husband, Joe, she helped run the 20 Club for 25 years and cribbage for 52 years.
Joanne is survived by her husband of 68 years, Joseph E. L'Huillier; son, Kyle J.; daughters, Karen J. (Kevin) Brosier and Kathy J.; granddaughters, Jynessa J. Brosier and Alison L'Huillier; grandson, Justin L'Huillier; two great-grandsons, Ezra and Elias L'Huillier; one great-granddaughter, Luna L'Huillier; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Mae Burgo; siblings, John Solka, Helen Solka and Shirley "Solka" Haavisto.
Joanne's family would like to thank U.P. Home and Hospice for their kindness and loving care. You could not ask for better compassionate care and family support.
A private graveside service will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery.
