Joanne Louise Rakowsky, 90, of Ladson, SC passed away on Sunday, June 22nd, 2025. She was born on October 30th, 1934, in Morgantown, WV to the late Helen Guido and Samuel Guido.
Joanne graduated from high school in Fairmont, WV, and later married the love of her life, Richard Charles Rakowsky. They spent 39 plus years together until his passing. She had many enjoyments in life including reading, shopping, visiting restaurants, spending time with her dog, and most of all, spending time with her beloved family. Joanne had a heart of gold and always knew how to help someone in need. Joanne loved the Lord and forever served him. She was a much beloved mother, grandmother, and friend who will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her loving children: Tina Moore (Tom) and Leah Rakowsky; her grandchildren: TJ Moore (Nancy) and Mark Moore (Allison); as well as her great grandchildren: Tommy Moore and Christina "Livy" Moore. She was preceded in death by her loving siblings: John Guido, Elsie Securo, Dolores Graziani, and Rosemarie Grandstaff.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Thursday, June 26th, 2025, from 6pm to 8pm at James A. Dyal Funeral Home, 303 South Main Street, Summerville, SC 29483. A visitation will also be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at the Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant Street, Fairmont, West Virginia, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am. A graveside will be held at 11:45 am at Grandview memorial Gardens in Fairmont, WV.
