Jodi Lyn Starr

On Wednesday, October 9, 2024, Jodi Lyn Starr 44, passed away unexpectedly at home.
Born in Gloversville, NY, on March 7, 1980, Jodi was a lifelong resident of Johnstown and was the daughter to Rose Miller. Jodi attended Johnstown High School and was in the class of 1999.
She is survived by a long list of family and friends who absolutely adored and will deeply miss her. Jodi leaves behind 2 sons: Isaac Nguyen, whom she called "momma's baby" and Alexander Nguyen, whom she called "momma's baby-baby", her bonus son, Elijah Antis-Nguyen, and the father of her children; Jeremy Nguyen.
Jodi also leaves behind her one and only sister Kari Nare, whom she called "Sissy" along with her brother-in-law, Brian Nare, whom she affectionately called brother-bear, her BFF & nephew, Riley Hall (Katelyn Lunman,) and niece Erika Nare. Jodi also left behind her Fiancé, Melissa Hentnik, whom Jodi called "My Beautiful", aunts Bridget (Russ Jennings) and Jami (Chris Stevens) along with several other nieces, nephews, cousins, and hundreds of friends whom she loved dearly.
She is predeceased by her mother Rose Miller and stepfather Bob Miller, and maternal grandparents Thomas & Madoline McCue.
To know Jodi was to love her. She was a true friend, a kindred spirit, and a lover of life with a celebratory soul. Jodi was the friend that always showed up and usually with a good story to tell. She loved those around her in a fierce and deeply loyal way. You could always count on Jodi to take pictures of everyone and attend every event, and with a huge smile on her face. She loved like no other and was always taking care of those around her. And if you knew Jodi at all, you too, probably have a good story about Jodi. She loved making memories and spending quality time with those that meant the most to her. Jodi worked in healthcare, which perfectly matched her never-ending desire to help and care for people.
Visitation will be held at AG Cole Funeral Home, 215 East Main Street, Johnstown, New York. Jodi's family will receive guests on Monday, October 14, 2024, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM; because Jodi loved a good celebration, her celebration of life will be held on her 45th birthday (March 7, 2025) and more details will be provided at a later time.
