Joe passed peacefully at Meng Hospice Residence in De Pere on April 11, 2025 of a long illness. Born in Green Bay, Wisconsin on November 2, 1954, he was the second of six children born to Thomas Richard and Veronica (Cornette) Guyette.
Joe graduated from De Pere High School in 1972. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1972 until 1976. Joe used his G.I. bill to attend college at UWGB then at UW Oshkosh where he earned his Bachelor's degree. At an unemployment class in 1983, Joe met the love of his life, Cathy Dunn. They were married in1988.
Joe was a cab driver, bartender, a teacher at OLC and at STIP, then worked at Graybar until he retired. When Gorgeous retired she and Joe took in one of her residents from the care facility she managed. Joe was a happy and generous man, He enjoyed taking his grandson Brandon and nephews, or his "Little Brother" to Brewer games and Gambler games. Joe loved trivia, cribbage, Sheepshead, board games, golf, baseball, hockey, his fantasy baseball league (tracking the stats) and trips to Vegas or Arizona to gamble.
Joe was preceded in death by his wife Cathy; his parents, Thomas and Veronica (Cornette) Guyette; brother-in-law, Rick Inman; nephews C J and Todd Inman; niece, Jami Daignault; and Cathy's parents, Harold and Jean, and her brothers, Michael and Tom.
Joe is survived by his daughter, Rebecca (Becki) Baker; his grandson, Brandon Baker; Brandon's children, Cameron and Alaina; his siblings, Mary (Kevin) Holloway, Kathie Inman, Andy (Linda) Guyette, Birdie (Mike) Schantz, and Penny (Paul) Gerhartz; nieces and nephews, Jennifer (Mike) Pranke and their son Nick; Scooter Holloway and his children Jarren (Eavin Lewis), Cullen, and Della; Cassie (Glen) Boutelle, and her sons Hunter and Nolan; Cara (Jamie) Unger-Fink, and their daughters Emma and Hazel; Andy (Rachel) Schantz, Aaron (Norma) Schantz, and their daughters Milania and Bailey; Joe (Drew) Schantz, and their children Marlo and Charlie; Holly (Braydon Budz) Schantz, and Randi Daignault. He is further survived by Cathy's family, his sister-in-law, Beth (Peter) Moon, and their children Dylan, James, and Isabel; along with extended family members, Troy, Sarah, Tracey, Tori, Wolfgang, Rikki, Jacob, Cooper, Lucas, and Amelia.
Family and friends may visit at Ryan Funeral Home, 305 N. Tenth Street, De Pere, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2025. Visitation will continue at the funeral home at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, April 18, 2025. A prayer service begin at 11:00 a.m. followed by full Military Honors.
