Joe Hammock, Sr., 66, entered into rest Thursday, January 5, 2023. He was a native and lifelong resident of Burke County. He owned his own mechanic shop and loved racing, riding motorcycles, and working on his mud truck. Joe enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Theo Hammock; his wife, Tonja Jo Hammock, a sister, Alice Thompson; and three brothers, Mitchel Lamb, Walter "Bud" Hammock, and Jimmy Hammock.
He is survived by three sons, Joe Hammock, Jr. (Macy) of Millen, Joshua Hammock, and Jeremy Hammock both of Girard; a stepson, Shiloh Everhart of Girard; four grandchildren, Landon Hammock, Laken Hammock, Joshua Hammock II, and Kapri Hammock; two sisters, Angela Skinner of Sylvania and Bertha "Tinnie" Flakes of Millen; two brothers, Talmadge Eugene Hammock of California and Robert Hammock of Girard; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 3:00pm to 5:00pm Sunday, January 8 at the funeral home.
