Joe L Meyer, 48, of Albion, passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, in Fort Wayne. On May 1, 1976, he was born to Paul and Janeie (DeCamp) Meyer, in Fort Wayne. Joe married Aleatha Karst, on March 23, 2002, in Albion.
Joe was a lifelong farmer. He completed 10 years in 4-H and continued to volunteer in various 4-H Clubs and serving on the Dairy Steer Committee. Joe volunteered for the Albion Fire Department for 10 years. He also volunteered for Central Noble Athletics by running the scoreboard at football games. He loved his family, kids, and football. The Indianapolis Colts were his favorite team, and he loved Allis Chalmers tractors.
Survivors include his wife Aleatha, sons Coleman (Rose) Meyer, of Albion, Derrick Meyer, of Albion, and Dillon Meyer, of Albion; parents Paul and Janeie Meyer of Churubusco; brother Jeff (Jennifer) Meyer, of Albion; sister- in-law Valorie Slaughter, of Avilla; nieces Lucy Meyer, Hayley Meyer, Sausha Slaughter, and Teaunna Slaughter; nephews Wade Meyer, Drew Meyer, and Adam Karst; 2 great nieces, and 1 great nephew.
Preceding Joe in death are his grandparents Jr and Virginia DeCamp, and Ted and Pauline Meyer, father-in-law Jerald Karst, and mother-in-law Connie Karst.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00am, Monday, November 18, 2024, at Harper Funeral Home, Albion Chapel, 771 Trail Ridge Road, Albion, with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will be held at 2:00pm to 6:00pm, Sunday, November 17, 2024, at the funeral home.
Contributions in Joe's memory may be directed to Central Noble Football or to Jefferson Township 4-H.
