Elder Joe Eddie Miller was born August 28, 1936 to the late john Washington Miller and Bertha Florine Miller in Manning, SC. He was the third child of seven children.
He attended Manning Training School. Joe began working at People's Grocer Store in Manning, SC at a young age. In Manning, SC he married Ruby Lee Wilson and had two sons, Michael and Dennis Miller.
Later, he relocated to New Canaan, CT and worked for Joe Libertore Company and Pace Company. He then moved to Norwalk and worked at Norwalk Fabricators for a few years.
He later moved to Richmond, VA where he received the Lord as his personal Saviour under Elder Grimm. Joe moved back to Norwalk, CT and was ordained as a Deacon by
Elder C. Brown at St. Paul's Church of God in Christ and later became an ordained Elder.
He loved spreading the gospel, visiting convalescent homes, and the hospitals-always witnessing for the Lord. He used to sing his favorite songs "Traveling Shoes" and I'm a Soldier."
After the passing of his wife, Ruby, during his retirement he relocated to Fayetteville, NC where he met and married his wife. Helen. He was a loving husband of four years and became lovingly known to her children as "Pop" In Fayetteville, NC he lived out his life and went on to be with the Lord.
Aside from his wife, Helen, he leaves to cherish his memories, son, Michael Miller I (Katarina), his five grandchildren: Jahmeca (Angel), Lazasha, Michael II, Keyana, and Nyeela; his great-grandchildren: Angel Jr., Skyler, and Stormi; his siblings: Leola, John, Leroy (Ruth), James (Patricia) and Cynthia, all of Connecticut; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Ruby Miller, his son, Dennis Miller and his sister, Rovena Coleman.
