Joe Mirra, 97, of Endicott, NY passed away at his residence Thursday, April 25th, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was predeceased by his parents Carmen and Carmela Mirra, brothers Mario and Carmine Jr., and his sister Luijina Lenzo, and his wife of 59 years Clara.
He is survived by his three children Carmine J Mirra and Joseph Mirra of Endicott, and his daughter Michelle Carmella Mirra of Stroudsburg, PA; three grandchildren Breanna Preble and Daniel Mirra of Endicott, and Michael Miserendino of Stroudsburg, PA, two great grandchildren Sofia and Kassius Preble; nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.
He was a devout man and his family was his center. He was happily married for 59 years and was a very active and loving father. He was a caring uncle and always made himself available for advice or assistance. His passion in life was divided between hunting, fishing, and gardening; and, in his retirement, enjoyed spending time at Cayuga Lake.
Joe served his country in the Navy during WWII on the USS NOA and USS Barton. He was a lifelong IBM employee, retiring in 1984.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 am Monday, April 29 at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 300 Odell Avenue, Endicott. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City.
The family will receive friends at church Monday, April 29 from 10 am until Mass time at 11 am.
