Joe Leo Orozco, Jr. passed away on April 1, 2025 at the age of 45. He was born on July 15, 1979 in Muleshoe, Texas to Jose "Joe" and Dorothy Orozco. He spent his childhood in Odem, Texas where he attended Odem High School.
Joe was one of the great athletes of his school. He participated in track, baseball, basketball, and varsity football. He later on attended Del Mar College pursuing a Nursing degree. As a registered nurse, he served with compassion and grace, helping save the lives of many. He also worked as a hospice nurse, offering comfort and dignity to patients and their families during life's most delicate moments.
He was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Laura Rosas; his grandparents, Ladislado Orozco, Carlos Delgado and Janie Nevarez.
He was a loving father to his children, Julianna and Mark, who were the light of his life. Joe is also survived by his parents Dorothy and Joe; his two younger brothers Stephen and Matthew; sister: Diana; his first soon to be born grandson; his nephew Josiah; and as he would call his "third child", Jacen, his beloved dog and companion. His family meant the world to him - He always put them before himself.
Joe enjoyed the simple pleasures of life: watching football games, especially the Dallas Cowboys (win or lose); Staying active with weightlifting and running; Always having rock music playing in the background while he sang without a care. His strength, kindness, and sense of humor will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will begin Thursday, April 10, 2025, 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be recited the same evening, 7:00 PM at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, April 11, 2025, 10:00 AM the Sacred Heart Church in Odem. Interment will follow in San Pedro Cemetery, Odem.
