Joe Eugene Ross

Joe Eugene Ross Jr. went to be with the Lord on September 6, 2021. He was born on June 2, 1964 in Columbus, Ohio to Joe Ross Sr. and Glenas (Burns) Ross. He graduated from Walnut Ridge High School in 1982 and went on to serve his country proudly and was a United States Seabee Navy Veteran. He was in the construction steel industry for over thirty-five years and covered major projects.
Joe is preceded in death by his father, Joe Eugene Ross Sr., with whom Joe was proud to carry on the Joe Eugene Ross name; grandparents, Eugene and Margret Ross and Tilly and Maureen Jones. Joe is survived by his wife, Paula (South) Ross; children, Craig Ross and Heather Ross; brother, Phillip Eugene (Kim) Ross; grandsons, Colton Johnson, Jackson Ross, Talon Barringer, Ryder Barringer; nieces and nephews, Justin Murray, Craig Lee, Sierra Lee and Tyler Ross.
Joe had an immense love for his family, especially for his wife and love of his life, Paula (South) Ross. Joe was a loving father and best friend to his children, always involved in activities such as coaching his son's baseball team and daughter's softball team. He was a proud father and would often brag, "My daughter built me the baddest bike." One of Joe's favorite things to do that brought him true happiness was to ride motorcycles with his daughter. He also enjoyed projects with his son, mainly telling Craig what to do as he watched Craig do the work.
Joe raced in the Legends Series at the Columbus Motor Speedway and loved animals. He had a dignity in the way that he carried himself that commanded respect. He was genuine to anyone he cared about. He had a quick wit and sense of humor that will never be forgotten. Happy memories and love are what will remain in the hearts of his friends and family. And as Joe would say, "Your hair looks great today."
Friends may call on the family from 11:00am-12:00pm on September 25, 2021 at Shepherd Church of the Nazarene, 425 Hamilton Road, Gahanna, Ohio 43230 with Memorial Service to follow at 12:00pm. Celebration of Life to follow after at American Legion Comrade Whitehall Post 490, 1117 South Hamilton Road, Columbus, Ohio 43227.
