Joe Vasquez Ruiz left us too early.
Joe was born in Sutherland Springs, Texas, to Juan and Reymunda Ruiz and was the second of eight children.
The family traveled the country but eventually settled in Idaho, where Joe went to school. He got a maintenance job at the Tupperware plant in Jerome where he loved working in the maintenance department, and stayed until he retired.
Joe loved welding, hunting, and fishing, and his family always came first to him. Most of his family remember the rides on the back of his Harley, riding horses, and how he taught a lot of us how to drive because we had to drive the hay truck. He also did martial arts and made sure we always knew he could kick over our heads. He showed us how to work hard and how family was the most important part of life.
He was preceded in death by his father, Juan; mother, Reymunda; sister, Savina (Sab); and his nephew, Sam.
He is survived by his brothers, Nick and Adolph; sisters, Eva, Rose, Janie, and Connie; and too many nieces and nephews to print.
Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at Farnsworth Mortuary, 1343 S Lincoln Ave, Jerome.
Memories and condolences may be shared with the family on Joe’s memorial webpage at www.farnsworthmortuary.com.
