Joel Bergeron who was born on Friday, July 12, 1957, in Ville Platte, Louisiana, passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2025 in his hometown at the age of 67. He leaves behind a legacy of strength, passion, and a zest for life that touched all who knew him.
As a dedicated welder, Joel approached his craft with the same strong-willed determination that characterized his entire life. His work embodied the heart and soul of his character, showcasing not only exceptional skill but a commitment to excellence that left him in high demand for his craft.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Joel was a man of diverse interests and hobbies. He found joy in duck hunting, where he embraced the tranquility of nature, and spent many peaceful hours tending to his garden. Cooking was another of his passions; his family recalls that when others were cooking, he would often look over their shoulders as they prepared dishes, ensuring everything was going well.
One of his greatest passions throughout his life was raising pigs, a hobby that brought him immense joy up until his last days. This dedication to his interests was a reflection of his vibrant personality—he lived life to its fullest, embracing every moment with enthusiasm and vigor.
Joel is survived by his wife, Cecilia Deville Bergeron; two daughters, Lindsey Bergeron (Brad Ardoin) and Crystal Lafleur; three grandchildren, Josie, Karlee, and Kendsey; and his two brothers, Larry and Regis Bergeron.
He now rests with his parents, Arceaux and Velma Bergeron; sister, Janice Fairchild; and brothers, Johnny, Anthony, and Robert Bergeron.
Joel will be remembered not only for his talents and passions but also for the memories he created with family and friends. His presence will be deeply missed, but the impact he had on those around him will endure in their hearts forever.
A memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 1:00 PM followed by a graveside service in the Gates of Heaven Cemetery.
