Obituary published on Legacy.com by Darst Funeral Home on Jun. 18, 2025.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joel Eulalio Longoria, 41, who left us on Thursday, June 12, 2025, surrounded by the love and music that defined his remarkable life. Joel was a devoted father, brother, uncle, nephew, and godfather to Dylan Longoria-a talented musician and the heartbeat of Tejano Road. He transformed every space he entered with his infectious laughter, generous spirit, and unforgettable voice.
A Life Filled with Music and Love
Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Joel's life was a beautiful symphony of family, music, and community. As the proud singer of Tejano Road, he carried forward the rich tradition of Tejano music, pouring his soul into every performance and touching countless hearts with his powerful voice. Joel's passion for music extended beyond the stage-it was a way of honoring the musical legacy his father instilled in him. Whether crafting beats, engaging in the battle rap scene, or sharing spontaneous melodies, Joel lived and breathed music.
A true Houston native, Joel's loyalty ran deep-from cheering on his beloved Astros, to watching the Rockets, and never missing a Texans game. Sports were more than just games to Joel; they were chances to gather with family and friends, creating memories that will last forever.
Joel was the embodiment of selfless love. If you needed someone to talk to, Joel was there. His kindness knew no bounds. His laughter was medicine, his presence a comfort, and his ability to make everyone feel like family was his greatest gift. Whether on stage or with his playful antics, Joel had an extraordinary talent for bringing joy to others.
Beloved Family
Joel is survived by Corinne and their two precious daughters, Everleigh and Brielle, who were the center of his universe. He was the cherished son of Christina and Jose Longoria, who nurtured his musical gifts and loving nature from the very beginning. He leaves behind his sister Amanda and her children Janessa, Joey, Jiselle, and Jordyn Rodriguez; his brother Jeremy Longoria and sister-in-law Candace, along with their children Madison Avila, Chloe Avila, Jacob Avila Jr., and Dylan Longoria. His grandparents, Lala Longoria and Anita Gonzalez, treasured their special bond with Joel, who honored them with his respect and devotion. Joel's extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and bandmates all carry pieces of his generous spirit forward.
A Lasting Legacy
Joel's legacy lives on through the music he created, the laughter he inspired, and most importantly, through Everleigh and Brielle, who carry his light within them. His family wishes everyone to know: Corinne and the girls will always be part of our family. We ask that you continue checking on them, include them in holiday celebrations, and help us keep Joel's beautiful memory alive for his daughters.
