Joel Edward Schnitz

Joel Edward Schnitz completed his life on earth on April 10, 2025 at his home in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on January 8, 1943 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Joel Chester Schnitz and Dorothy June Peck. Joel is survived by his wife of 58 years, Carol Schnitz.; son, Mark Schnitz, daughter, Cynthia Tarvin (Charles); grandchildren, Steel Kelly, Caden Schnitz, Savannah Schnitz and Landon Tarvin. Joel also leaves behind many cherished extended family and friends.
Joel graduated from UT Austin School of Pharmacy in 1966. In 1967, he married Carol Lindsey at South Austin Baptist Church in Austin, Texas. Joel loved spending time in the great outdoors and with his family. If he wasn't at the Pharmacy you might find him hunting at Mason Texas or you might find him at a favorite fishing hole, He was very proud of his children and grandchildren. Joel was a very kind, thoughtful, patient husband. He was an extra special Dad, a fun Papa and a special friend to many.
Joe's favorite hymn was Sweet Hour of Prayer and his favorite Bible verse was John 3:16- For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

A Chapel Service will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 3:00pm at the Fred J. Tips Mausoleum Chapel, 20900 IH-10 West, San Antonio, Texas 78257. Interment will follow at Mission Burial Park North.
