Joel Anthony Strout

Joel Anthony Strout, of Keene, NH, died peacefully on January 19, 2025, with his mother at his side, at Cedarcrest Center for Children with Disabilities, in Keene, NH. He was only 17 years old.
Joel was born February 15, 2007 in Berlin, VT to his proud parents Alicia Moore and Kerry Strout. He grew up in Vermont before moving to Cape Cod, and while living here he attended Mashpee schools where he made many lifelong friends. In 2021 his family moved to Vermont, where had started his freshman year at South Burlington High School. Shortly after the move, Joel was the victim of a tragic accident in which he was hit by a car while riding his bike. He suffered a traumatic brain injury from this accident and has been fighting the odds against him ever since.
Before his accident, Joel enjoyed being active, playing basketball, going snowboarding, and riding dirt bikes to name a few favorite pastimes. He also enjoyed anime. Joel was also a talented artist and was skilled at drawing. More than anything, Joel is remembered as a loving son, brother, and dear friend who will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Joel is survived by his mother Alicia Moore; his father Kerry Strout; his stepfather Justin Perdiz; his brother Josiah Perdiz; his sister Kitana Collins; his grandparents; his aunts Kate Moore and Ariel Moore; as well as many cousins, extended family members, and friends. Joel was preceded in death by his sister Nevaeh Perdiz.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025, from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM at Chapman Funerals and Cremations, 74 Algonquin Ave. (RTE 151), in Mashpee.
