Joeseph Charles Hale, a cherished member of the Sunbury community and dedicated nursing assistant, passed away on April 30, 2025, in Galena, Ohio, on his 64th birthday. Born on April 30, 1961, in Columbus, Ohio, Joeseph spent his formative years in the area and developed a love for helping others, which defined both his personal and professional life.
Joeseph graduated from Big Walnut High School in 1979, laying the foundation for a life filled with hard work and compassion. He worked as a nursing assistant for 20 years, dedicating himself to the care of others at local nursing homes. His role in the healthcare field brought him immense pride and a sense of fulfillment, as he was known for his kindness and commitment.
In addition to his work in healthcare, Joeseph contributed to the community through his service at Mudflats and Thurmans for 12 years, further establishing his connection to the people around him. As a member of the Freemasons, he sought to embody the values of friendship, charity, and brotherly love.
Joeseph had a multitude of interests that enriched his life. He enjoyed indulging in movies and music, finding joy in the art and stories they presented. Gardening brought him peace and a sense of accomplishment, while fishing served as a treasured pastime that allowed him to spend time in nature.
Joeseph was the son of Charles and Nancy Hale and had two brothers, Christopher and Daniel Hale. Joeseph was married to Lori Hale (Barney) for 24 years. Together, they raised three sons: Christopher (Sarah) Hale, Thomas Hale, and the late James Hale. Joeseph’s passing is a profound loss, felt by his surviving family members, including his mother, Nancy Hale, his brothers, Christopher and Daniel Hale, and his sons, Christopher and Thomas Hale.
Joeseph was predeceased by his son, James Hale, and his father, Charles Hale.
A graveside service to honor Joeseph’s life will be held on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at 2 PM at Trenton Cemetery, located at 15495 Hartford Rd., Sunbury, OH 43074. The service will be officiated by Andrew Scholz, and all who knew Joeseph are welcome to attend and celebrate the life of a man who gave so much to those around him.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to Children's Hospital of Orthopedics.
