ABBEVILLE - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 PM, Saturday, July 5, 2025, at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church honoring the life of John Carroll Baudoin, 92, who passed away on July 2, 2025, at Woodbriar Southern Style Assisted Living & Memory Care. Rev. Alexander Albert will officiate at the funeral mass. Burial will be at St. Paul Mausoleum.
Readers will be Nicole Lege and Jonathan Gaspard. Gift bearers will be Fallon Lege, Emma Lege, and Paige Trahan. He will be buried alongside his wife at St. Paul Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Curt Trahan, Quinton Gaspard, Jonathan Gaspard, Brett Gaspard, Joshua Gaspard, and Timothy Baudoin.
Carroll was know in Vermilion Parish as the Director of Facilities, Housekeeping and Security at the local hospital. He proudly served in the Navy on the USS LST 508 from 1951 through 1954. He also loved the outdoors and hunting was one of his favorite past times with his family and many great friends.
A visitation will take place at Vincent Funeral Home of Abbeville, 209 S. Saint Charles St., Abbeville on Saturday, July 5, 2025, from 9:00 AM until 1:15 PM, when the procession will depart for the church. A rosary will be prayed at noon by Deacon Keith Duhon.
He is survived by his son, Mark Baudoin and his wife, Leah; two daughters, Janice Simon and her husband, Edward, and Patti Gaspard; eight grandchildren, Curt Trahan (Mary), Nicole Lege (Chad), Quinton Gaspard (Chelsea), Jonathan Gaspard, Brett Gaspard (Brittany), Joshua Gaspard (Chyna), Timothy Baudoin (Yueidy), and Brooke Baudoin; five great grandchildren, Fallon Lege, Emma Lege, Paige Trahan, Westin Baudoin, Avery Viator, Amelia Baudoin, Cali Duhon, Maeve Gaspard; and one brother, Raywood Baudoin.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Joyce Lou Touchet Baudoin; parents, Fernand Baudoin and the former Fedora Hebert; and two infant sisters, also his great granddaughter Freya Gaspard, his In-laws Arno (Nin) Touchet and the former Ceba Lege.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Woodbriar Assisted Living and Memory Care and their great staff, as well as Hospice of Acadiana with a special thanks to Natalie.
