John S. Bilyeu, II, 69, of Bella Vista, Arkansas and formerly of Pampa passed away peacefully on May 24, 2024 in Bentonville, Arkansas. Celebration of life memorial service will be at 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 15, 2024, at Redeemer Pampa with Jeremy Buck officiating. Arrangements are being provided by Benton County Funeral Home and Crematory. John was born on January 2, 1955 in Nicut, Oklahoma to John and Maxine (Richardson) Bilyeu. After graduating from Wilson High School in Oklahoma, he met and married the love of his life, Janet Lacy. They were married on June 8, 1974 in Pampa, Texas. They were two weeks shy of celebrating 50 years of marriage at the time of John's passing. John had a long tenure in the oil & gas industry working for Pro Data Survey, Land and Marine Company, Nowsco, Inc., Munday Companies at Celanese, and National Oilwell Varco where he would eventually retire. After retirement John and Janet moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas. Through the years, John's love was raising and showing quarter horses. Several of the horses he showed were awarded grand champion in halter classes. He also enjoyed ranch sorting. He enjoyed fishing, playing golf, and he loved to cook and entertain. He spent countless hours perfecting his smoked brisket and his recipe was requested by many. He was a master carpenter, remodeling every home they lived in, and constructing barns and chicken houses among other buildings. He even remodeled a travel trailer into a cook shed for his nephew Bryce. John was a problem solver. He was the person anyone in his network of friends and family would call to fix any problem no matter the size. He and Janet loved to travel and were blessed to travel to several different countries during their marriage. He especially loved his trip to the Grand Canyon where he rode a mule to the floor of the canyon with his brother, Gene; however, when he got back to the top he said, "I will never do that again!" John and Janet were involved in Emmaus and this experience heavily influenced their lives. They attend Village Bible Church in Bella Vista, Arkansas.
