It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Davis Borne, Sr., who has entered into his eternal rest on September 3, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on June 24, 1934, in Rayne, Louisiana, John was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He spent his life enriching the lives of those around him with his kindness, strength, and unwavering faith.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, from 9 AM till 11 AM. A Mass of Chrisitan Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM at Maria Immaculata Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. Francis De Sales Cemetery #2.

John is survived by his devoted wife of 67 years, Wilda Borne, and their loving children: John Borne, Jr. (Jody), Michael Borne (Marcia), Preston Borne (Luci), Mona Borne Callais (Larry), Danielle Borne Pellegrin (Keith), and daughter-in-law Darlene Borne. The joy of his life extended further to his grandchildren; Terah Domingue (Chris), Kasi Jones (Jovonn), John Borne, III (Nicole), Derrek Borne (Kayla), Anjele Gumm (Keith), Taylor Borne, Whitney LeCompte (Jeremy), Holden Borne (Ashley), Rhett Smith (Carly), Reid Smith, Raven LeBeouf (Ryan), Jason Borne, Jr. (Chelsey), Grace Borne (Jacob), Allie Borne (Zage), Abbie Pellegrin, and his cherished 25 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Steve Borne.

John was reunited in heaven with his parents, Hector and Loretta Borne, his beloved son, Jason Borne, Sr., and his sister, Joyce Boudreaux. His spirit lives on through the memories of the many who loved him.

A proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, John exemplified the values of loyalty and dedication throughout his life. His career as a Petroleum Engineer at MMS was marked by professional respect and camaraderie. Known for his vibrant personality, John enjoyed hunting, cooking, fishing, and dancing to zydeco music. He had a passion for family gatherings, sharing meals, and the simple joys of life, including cold beer, fireball whiskey, and spending time outdoors especially at his camp in Mississippi at McCall Creek.

John's compassionate nature and unwavering support for others defined his life. He was always ready with a kind word and a helping hand, embodying the spirit of a true outdoorsman and devoted family man.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to John's caregivers; Diane, Star, Sherri, and Amie for their support and compassion during this time. They also request that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in John's memory to MD Anderson Cancer Research in Houston or the Houma Marine Corps League.
