Christine Theresa Borne, a precious child of God, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at the age of 67. She was born on October 27th, 1957 in Lafayette, LA and a longtime resident of Metairie, LA.
Beloved Daughter of Robert Philip Borne and the late Agnes Olivier Borne, and loving sister of Sharon Pendleton (Neal "Chip"), Mary Wadge (Gordon), Stephen Borne (Colleen), Philip Borne (Lori) and Michelle Guillot (Jeff). She is also survived by 20 nieces and nephews and 28 great nieces and nephews.
A proud graduate of Louisiana State University, Christine earned a Bachelor's degree in General Studies in 1980 and later obtained a Master's degree in Library Science in 1995. She dedicated 31 years of her career to the Jefferson Parish Library System, where she served in various roles, ultimately becoming a branch manager before her retirement in 2013. Christine was a compassionate and diligent professional, known for her willingness to assist others and her dedication to her work. She was a favorite among library patrons and a respected colleague, admired for her kindness and service.
A devout Catholic, Christine's faith was at the core of her life. She was a regular attendee at Mass and a daily communicant. Christine found great solace in prayer, particularly through her hours spent in adoration at various Chapels where she quietly prayed for the needs of others, rarely praying for herself. She volunteered as an adorer at St. Catherine, St. Benilde and St. Clement Churches, where she filled in for others. Her spirituality and devotion to God touched those who knew her.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral mass at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 105 Bonnabel Blvd, Metairie, LA on Monday Jan 20th 2025 at 12:00 p.m. Visitation will begin at the church at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Restlawn Park Cemetery, Avondale, LA. Christine was an extraordinary person
of great intellect, good heart , and a great friend.

She was always Praying for others,
as well as making sure to ask for Prayers for people going through severe weather all over the world.
Her daily weather report became very important to her, and she was very proud of it.

My deepest condolences to her family.

May she Rest in Peace.
Patricia Bennett.

Christine is one of the most dedicated prayer warriors I have ever known, especially known to kindly pray for others during their surgeries. Her overall generosity and concern for the welfare of others is an inspiration and will be her everlasting legacy. Know she will continue her powerful prayers from above for us all and for our world. What a Blessing! Thank you Christine!

So sorry to hear of her passing, she was a lovely person, very kind and understanding to me when I was having pretty serious health problems when I was working for the library. Loved by patrons and many employees. May she rest in peace , my thoughts and prayers will be with you at this difficult time.
