Sheryl Ann Vallet Cousins, affectionately known as "Nanny Pete," passed away peacefully on August 23, 2025, in Kenner, Louisiana. She was born on January 12, 1948, in Livonia, Louisiana.
Sheryl dedicated her life to caring for others, spending an impressive 50 years as a Registered Nurse. Her compassion and commitment to her profession touched the lives of many, and she was known for her gentle spirit and nurturing nature.
Beyond her nursing career, Sheryl had a great love for cats, often finding joy in their companionship.
Sheryl is survived by her devoted husband, Gary Cousins; her stepsons, Gary Cousins (Darcy), Jason Cousins (Tammy), and Jonathan Cousins (Marina); her sister, Sylvia Thomas; her sisters-in-law, Kathy Pellegrini (Gene) and Gwen Massett; her best friend, Toni; and her beloved grandchildren, Theo, Ziggy, Sam, and Maddy.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Vallet, and her mother, Ida Picad Vallet.
Sheryl's legacy of love and care will continue to resonate through the lives she touched. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
