Waterbury – John J. Breen, III, 72, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Dawn (Smart) Breen for 42 years.
John was born in Waterbury on December 23, 1952, son of the late John Breen, Jr. and Millicent (Wooster) Breen. John is a past member of the Waterbury Eagles Club. He enjoyed fishing, music, and cooking for his family and friends, and was a Nascar fan. He held various employment positions over the years, including auto mechanic, dispatcher and manager at Yellow Cab & Curtain Transportation Company, J & L Bus Co. Operator and Bus Trainer, Moonlight Starter & Generator in Florida, retiring from Supreme Lake Manufacturing.
Including his wife, Dawn, John leaves behind his son, Jason Breen; his brother, Robert Breen, and his wife, Nancy; his sisters, Patricia Guilfoy, and her husband, Norman; and Kathy Green, and her husband, Mick; and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
Including his parents, John was predeceased by his brother, Richard Breen; his aunt and twin of mom, Mildred Clark.
Services for John will be held at a later date.
