John Brehm, a lifelong resident of Sparrowbush, died unexpectedly on October 12, 2024. John had just celebrated his 24th birthday the day before. John worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for the Town of Lumberland Highway Department. An avid hunter and fisherman, he was an active member in the Red Rock Hunting Club. John was a loved member of "The Squad." He had a tight-knit group of friends that John could always be found with. His beloved brother, Timothy, shared an unbreakable bond with John, and they were best friends. It was rare to see one without the other.
Not only was he a role model to Tim, but he also had several younger cousins who looked up to him. John spent many days teaching them the art of hunting and fishing. He was loved by so many and touched so many lives. Always willing to help, John had a genuine heart of gold. John also loved to golf.
Survivors include his loving parents at home, John and Joanne Brehm of Sparrowbush, and his brother Timothy Brehm of Sparrowbush; Paternal Grandfather, Jack Brehm of Sparrowbush; Paternal Aunt Jackii (Todd), of Malone, NY; Maternal Uncles, James Morabito (Rebecca) of Glen Spey and Salvatore DeLuca of West Palm Beach, Fl and Maternal Aunt Susan Frank (Hiram) of Boca Raton, FL; Paternal Aunt Janice Smith (Bill) of Liberty, and Uncle Ron of Liberty, NY; Also several cousins and great aunts and uncles; his close friends, Collin, Tyler, Anthony, Jack, Pat, Trevor, Nick, Caleb, Asher, Brad and " The Cross Cut Boys". John entered his journey of eternal rest with his cherished friend, Steven. John was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Patricia Gunderman and Anthony DeLuca; Paternal grandmother, Linda Brehm and his cousin Amanda Morabito.
Family and friends are invited to visit at the Gray-Parker Funeral Home, Inc., 100 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY 12771 on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm.
Services will be on Thursday, October 17, 2024 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am in St. Mary's R.C. Church, 46 Ball St., Port Jervis, NY 12771 with Rev. Anthony Giacona officiating. Cremation will follow at the MacLennan Hall Crematorium, Milford, PA. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the GRAY-PARKER FUNERAL HOME, 100 E. Main St., Port Jervis.
