Skip was born in Lancaster, PA on January 23, 1944. After graduating from Conrad Weiser High School in 1961; Skip joined the Navy and attended the Defense Language School in Monterey, CA where he studied the Russian language and served as a linguist in Adak, Alaska and Kami Seya, Japan.
After his discharge from the Navy, he returned to his family home in Wernersville, PA where he worked for Prudential Insurance Company. Having "seen the world" he wanted to experience more. So, on November 5, 1966, he married Lynne Diller and the two embarked on a lifetime of seeing the USA.
First stop was Las Vegas, NV where he was hired by Trans World Airlines (TWA). During the 18 years they lived in Las Vegas, the couple welcomed four sons. In 1984 Skip was promoted to Station Manager at Memphis International Airport, moving the family to the small town of Collierville, TN, where they lived for five years. Move three took the family north to Dayton, OH where Skip was Station Manager and served out a twenty-eight-year career with TWA retiring in 1996. After his retirement Skip and Lynne with Curt still at home moved to Cary, NC.
It was there that Skip took up a second career working as manager of the sporting goods department at the Cary WalMart retiring after 15 years.
Skip was an avid sports fan playing baseball in high school and later coaching his sons' baseball teams and cheering them on at their basketball and soccer games. As the boys grew and attended college his interest turned to the TN Vols and Carolina Tar Heels. His favorite professional teams were the LA Dodgers, Green Bay Packers, and Boston Celtics.
Skip is predeceased by his son John Cary, his parents John and Kathryn Brossman, his father-in-law Allen Diller, sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Clyde Maul, sister Sandra Bezar and brothers-in-law Allen Diller and Jeffrey Diller. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Lynne, and sons Chad Eric, Cyle Drew (Nicole Salvato), and Curt Alan (Taylor Pandich), his grandchildren, John Nicholas, Gianna Marie, Vincent Joseph, Beckett Cary, and Brooks Jordan, sister, Kathryn Suzanne Chirieleison, and brother London "Buzz" Brossman, mother-in-law Shirley Diller, brother-in-law Todd Diller, sister-in-law Lorri Palko and many loving nieces and nephews, and grandnephews and nieces.
