John M. Butcher, 69, passed away at his Washington residence on November 15, 2024. He was born April 23, 1955, in Washington, the son of Joseph and Wilma (Thombleson) Butcher.
After high school, John served his country honorably in the United States Army. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War.
Those who mourn John's passing include his companion, Janet Myers of Washington; son, Christopher John (Maggie) Butcher of Evansville; and daughter, Michelle Butcher of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Additionally, John leaves several grandchildren: Aidan Butcher of Evansville; Nicholas Butcher of Evansville; Eijah (Sasha) Hunt of Evansville; Ava Grabill of Grand Rapids, Michigan; Kenny Grabill of Grand Rapids, Michigan; Waylon Grabill of Grand Rapids, Michigan; Damien Myers of Washington; and Daniel Fidler of Washington. He also leaves a sister, Kathy Butcher of Los Angeles, California.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Butcher and Wilma Shelton.
There will be no services.

Janet, Christopher, Michelle and Kathy and your families have my condolences on the loss of John. As a boy with John being older than me that I looked up to him and remember following him around. I guess that is what cousin's were for. I also remember Christmas gatherings with our grandparents, Aunt Willie, Kathy and John. As we have grown older, I have not seen John very often, but we but it was good to run into him from time to time. You are in my prayers as you grief the loss of John. Mike Thombleson
