John Gerald Cleary Sr.

John Gerald Cleary, Sr., 88 of Kennebunk, ME passed away peacefully on August 24, 2025 in Suffolk, VA. He was born in St. John New Brunswick, Canada in 1937 to Patrick Cleary and Nancenna Beatty. He is predeceased by his sister, Joan Holden and brother, James Cleary.

John graduated from Old Orchard Beach High School in Maine. He enjoyed his career as a semi-truck driver and lovingly acquired the nickname "The Milk Man" while driving for HP Hood. He was a 3rd degree lifetime member of the Knight's of Columbus. John loved camping and traveling, especially to Ashland, NH and his home state of Maine. One of his favorite things to do was people watch and eat pier fries at Old Orchard Beach with the love of his life, Cecilia.

Left to cherish his memory is his spouse of 62 years, Cecilia Ann Cleary of Old Orchard, ME; sons, David Cleary (Stacy) of Saco, ME, and John Cleary, Jr. (Ashley) of Suffolk, VA; three grandchildren, Andrew Cleary of Bremerton, WA, Courtney Cleary of Biddeford, ME, and Matt Cleary of Kennebunk, ME; sister, Patricia Gagne (Ray) of Biddeford, ME; and don't forget his cherished poodle, Daisy Mae, who he loved very much.

A Celebration of Life and interment in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Saco, Maine will be held at a later date. R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home & Crematory, Downtown Suffolk Chapel is serving the family. Condolences may be registered at RWBakerFH.com.
