John Cullen passed away on August 1, 2025. John grew up in West Orange and Spring Lake, NJ. As a teenager, John visited the Wayman Adams School of Art in Elizabethtown, NY and discovered his love of art and the Adirondacks.
John attended Villanova College in Pennsylvania and was in the US Army stationed in Berlin, Germany. John's passion for art prompted his education at the Newark, NJ School of Fine and Industrial Art, New York University, and Pratt Institute.
After a successful thirty-year career teaching art in public schools in New York and New Jersey, John began a second career teaching art at the Vero Beach, Florida Museum of Art during the winter months. Summers were lived in his favorite place, the Adirondacks.
He leaves his wife, Darlene, their three children and three grandchildren.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
