John Coleman Daniel III, 72, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2025, in Greensboro, NC surrounded by the love and comfort of his family and friends. John touched the lives of many with his wisdom, humor, kind spirit, and strong faith. A memorial service will be held at St. Francis Episcopal Church, 3506 Lawndale Drive, Greensboro, NC on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at the church memorial garden following the service.

John was born on March 15, 1953, in Lumberton, NC. He grew up in Raleigh, NC and graduated from North Carolina State University with a degree in Business Management. He was a proud member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity where he served as President. John spent 40+ years in the commercial real estate and appraisal field in Sanford, NC and later in Greensboro, NC, and most recently as a Senior Appraiser for TELICS. He obtained his Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation in 1989 (a designation he was most proud of) and served as president of the North Carolina CCIM chapter as well as serving on several national CCIM committees. The friendships he made throughout his career and life were most important to him and he will be remembered fondly by his many friends and colleagues.

John had a great love for sports, especially Wolfpack football, baseball, and basketball. The Atlanta Braves and PGA golf had a steadfast fan in John and if there was a game on you could be sure he was watching. Fall was his favorite season because he knew weekends were full of college football.

John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Jean Daniel and by his in-laws, George and Lois Bailey, with whom John had a special bond.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Elizabeth Bailey Daniel, his brother Rory M. Daniel, his brother-in-law Paul Bailey (Sherrie), three nieces and nephews, and six great nieces and nephews. He is remembered fondly as "Hot John" by his nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends in the parish hall following the service and interment.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to St. Francis Episcopal Church, 3506 Lawndale Drive, Greensboro, NC 27408.
