John Andrew Dunkel, 72, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away on November 2, 2025. He was born on May 19, 1953, in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, to John and Mary Dunkel, who preceded him in death.
John graduated from State College High School in 1971 and proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps for eight years, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. Following his military service, he dedicated his career to Honeywell, where he worked until his retirement in 2019.
He is survived by his loving wife, Rose Dunkel, and sisters Dot Johnson of Pine Grove Mills, Pa, Sue DeCorpo of Goshen, CT, and Judy DeArmon of Kyle Texas. John was a devoted father to his sons James Shuey, who preceded him in death, and Michael Shuey of Tempe.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Phoenix Rescue Mission in John's memory.
John's life will be celebrated privately by family and close friends.

John was a co-worker at Honeywell for many years. We worked very closely during that time and he was such a great help with our many difficult tasks. We continued to stay in touch after our retirements. John was also instrumental in helping me with my path to find the Lord. I know that God has a special place for John in Heaven. Rest peacefully my good friend.
