John “Jack” Gill, Jr., 77, of Lehighton and Boynton Beach, FL, passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2022, in his home. He was the husband of Linda (Thomas) Gill whom he married on June 26, 1965. Born in Shenandoah on August 24, 1945, he was the son of Wilma (Dodds) Gill and the late John Gill, Sr. of Mahanoy City. Jack graduated from Mahanoy Area High School in 1963 and was a member of the 1962 undefeated football team. He worked construction for various companies throughout the area. He also worked for Rexroth and retired from LSI. He was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church, Lehighton.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by children: John “Jack” Gill, III and wife Karen, Wendy Guzenski, Christian Gill and wife Amy; grandchildren: John “Jack” IV and wife Jennae, Anthony “AJ”, Matthew, Jill, Hannah, Elizabeth, Michael; 3 Great-Grandchildren: John ‘Jack” V, Bailey, Olivia; brother: William Gill and wife Marcella of Arizona, and many nieces & nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 12noon on Thursday, September 1, 2022, at Lighthouse Baptist Church, 1349 Green Street, Lehighton, PA 18235. Family and friends may pay their respects from 11 AM to 12noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the church. Arrangements are being handled by Harding Funeral Home, Slatington.
