John Golab Obituary
John Golab, 83, longtime resident of Inverness, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2024. He was born on May 18, 1941, in Chicago, IL, to the late Casimer and Jean Golab.
He was the beloved husband of the late Eileen J. Golab; loving companion of Patsy Pawlowski; dear brother of the late Don Golab; fond brother-in-law of Greg (Maxine) Schaefer; cherished uncle of Victoria and Mitchell Golab, Ben Schaefer and Amanda Schaefer Greene; and friend and Godfather to many.
Memorial visitation will be Friday, December 13, 2024, from 9 AM until the Mass at 10:30 AM at Saint Anne Catholic Community, 120 N. Ela St. (corner of Franklin and Ela Sts), Barrington IL. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516, https://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/ or to a charity of your choice.

I knew John through Eileen with whom I worked for many years in the PR department at United Airlines. Today I Googled John's name as I wanted to get in touch with a mutual friend. But my quest turned into shock when I read that he passed away earlier this month. John had a lively personality and was good company. Condolences to members of his family.

John was a dear family friend of my sister and her husband. I remember spending many gatherings with John and Eileen. He always had a smile and an interesting story to share. In the early days I recall so many accounts of the fascinating places they visited around the world. Rest in Peace.

Rest in peace, John Golab. I will always remember you. We spent almost 20 years together, taking care of your plants. I recall how, when I was working, you would sing along with me, happy to listen. I remember how you would laugh at my jokes and pranks. You were a wonderful person. When spring comes, and I have to clean your fountains, I will think of you, watching me with that smile of happiness, as always. May God keep you in His holy glory. John, rest in peace.
