John Barry Goodson

John Barry Goodson, lovingly know as "Barry" to all who knew him, passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at the age of 61. Barry was born on July 10, 1963, in Norfolk, Virginia. A proud resident of West Milton, Barry was the life of every gathering -- a "good time Charlie with a Harley" whose charm, quick wit, and unforgettable dance moves left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
He spent many years perfecting his craft as a taper, known for his precision and work ethic. Whether tearing up the dance floor, dominating a pool table, or sharing laughs with friends and family, Barry brought energy and joy into every room.
Above all, Barry was a devoted son, father, and an adoring grandfather. He is survived by his children, Shayna (Tyler) and Justin (Mariah), and his cherished grandsons Cole and Justin Jr., who absolutely adored their Pe-paw. He loved hunting with Justin and dancing with Shayna, and he never missed an opportunity to boast about the accomplishments of his children – a proud father through and through.
Barry is also survived by his mother Audrey Christensen, twin sister Bonnie Fillion, brother Brian Goodson, sister Joni Latshaw, and mother of his children Tracy Corlew. He was predeceased by his beloved grandparents Alvah "Red Dog" and Eleanor Older, and his stepfather Tom Christensen.
Barry was never one to back down. True to the Goodson name, he lived life on his own terms and left it the same way. Strong willed, fiercely loyal, and full of heart, Barry's legacy lives on in the love of his family and the countless memories shared with those lucky enough to have known him.
Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Monday, June 23 from 2pm to 4pm at Armer Funeral Home, Inc., 39 East High Street, Ballston Spa. All our welcome to join the family at the Milton Tavern, 430 Geyser Road, West Milton for a celebration of Barry's life following the calling hours.
