John Edward Graham, Jr. was born on March 3, 1962 in Hamlet, NC and went to his eternal home on June 5,2025 following a car accident.

He was the beloved son of John and Paula Graham, brother to Katrina and Tracy and uncle to Kathleen, Ed, Graham, Phillip, Hannah, Cameron, James, Luke, Jase, Karley, Benny and Violet. Affectionately known as “Crazy Legs” and “Hot Wheels” to his family and friends, John leaves a legacy of faith and determination that was shaped by Christ over the years.

At the age of 15, a diving accident left him a quadriplegic changing John’s life forever. Enduring months of intensive therapy, he returned home to life in a wheelchair. With hard work and determination, he lived a full and inspiring life, finishing high school with his classmates, attending and graduating from St. Andrew’s College and even driving a van with hand controls. He endured many obstacles and illnesses over the years but lived life to the fullest and always remained faithful to the Lord.

John loved food, long conversations with his special buddies, basking in the sun , and hanging out with the Biscuitville gang. Those who knew him well will remember his dry wit and ability to make them laugh.

John is survived by his 2 loving sisters, many nieces and nephews, his favorite aunt and cousin in Colorado and many dear friends who loved him.

John’s family would like to thank the Medical Intensive Care Unit at UNC-CH hospital and their Hospice Team for the compassion and sensitivity they displayed to John at the end of his life. We are forever grateful.

A visitation will be held Tuesday June 10, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham. Funeral services will be held Wednesday June 11, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Carter Funeral Home Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Randy Bishop officiating. Burial will follow at Zion Church Cemetery.
