John Greketis Obituary
Beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend passed away unexpectedly on June 2, 2025 at his home at the age of 90. The son of the late Peter A. Greketis and Irene A. Hafner, John was born on March 26, 1935 in Saginaw, Michigan. He served proudly in the U.S. Army. During his life Jack's talents and accomplishments were numerous. He earned a greenbelt in Judo Lifesavers and proudly bore a lifesaver instructor badge. Jack's skills propelled him into positions of leadership. Jack was the President of the Life Underwriters Association and the Saginaw Exchange Club. A man of great faith he was an active member of Christ the Good Shephard, formerly known as St. Helen, Catholic Church where he was an usher. In his free time Jack enjoyed organic gardening, swimming, sailing, riding jet skis, and watching his grandchildren play sports.
Surviving to cherish his memory are two daughters and one son, Lori K. (Mark) Katz, Rebecca (Craig) Allison, and Michael J. (Melodie) Greketis; a son-in-law, Jeff (Nicole) Leuenberger; several grandchildren, Erica (Jared) Wesley, Ryan (Meagan) Katz, Erin (Josh) Casselman, Kori Bucarino, Alexandra (Eric) Dennis, Chelsi (Dustin) Houghton, Taylor (Tom) McCaslin, Cordell Greketis; several great-grandchildren; three sisters, Donna Rouech, Patricia (Dave) Leix, Susan (Tom) McConnell; his brother, Daniel (Maryanne) Greketis; a special stepson, John (Beth) Lechmann and their children; special friend, Mary Zolinski, who brought much happiness into his later years. Jack is lovingly embraced and reunited with his daughters, Cathy A. Leuenberger; infant daughter, Marie A. Greketis; parents, Peter and Irene; his brothers, Charles and Richard Greketis; brother-in-law, Michael Rouech; infant brothers, Edward and Michael.
In accordance with the wishes of Jack and his family cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will take place at 12:00 noon Saturday, June 7, 2025 at the Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., Saginaw, Michigan. Rev. Fr. William Rutkowski will officiate. Friends may visit at the funeral home, where the family will be present on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. We certainly enjoyed Jack while he served as an usher at at parish. He always had a big smile on his face and kind words to say. He was a Sweetheart. May Jack rest in God´s heavenly peace.

Oh,so sorry to hear of Jack's passing. Reading the Obituary, it seems he had a great long successful adventurous life.
I grew up in the neighborhood of the Greketis family and since Jack was the oldest and the tallest,his presence was an awe to this young girl who visited with the girls in the family.
