John E. Hallinan, 63, of Dunmore, passed away on Tuesday afternoon at Allied Services Hospice Unit.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Eugene and Marjorie Whitford Hallinan. He was a graduate of Dunmore High School and prior to retirement he worked for Montana Brothers Amusements since he was a teenager.
Johnny enjoyed the casino and an ice-cold Budweiser. He was a music lover and his favorite song was "Let it Be" by The Beatles. He traveled extensively with his best friend Marty Montana. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
John's family wishes to thank the staff at Allied Services Hospice Unit for all of their care and compassion shown to John during his time there.
Surviving is his sister Mary Hallinan, Scranton; brothers, Eugene and wife Ann, Clarks Summit, Thomas and wife Alicia, and Joseph, all of Dunmore; nieces, Sarah Diamond and husband Adam, Garnet Valley, Pa., Meghan Hallinan, Brooklyn, NY, Molly Smith and husband Robert, Hoboken, NJ; nephew, Tommy Hallinan, Dunmore; best friend, Marty Montana, Dunmore.
He was preceded in death by his niece, Kelcey Hallinan.
A blessing service will be held on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore.
Interment is private at the convenience of the family in St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow.
Family and friends may pay their respects from 4 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Kelcey Hallinan Memorial Scholarship, c/o Fidelity Bank 101 N. Blakely St. Dunmore, PA 18512; or Make-A-Wish and sent to the local chapter, at 327 North Washington Avenue, Scranton, PA 18503.
