John Robert Hammon, Jr., 57, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2022.
He was born April 22, 1965 in Newtown, Ohio. He was a 1983 graduate of Turpin High School and earned his bachelor's degree in transportation logistics from The Ohio State University.
John served his country proudly in the U.S. Army National Guard and dedicated 33 years to FedEx Ground. He was an avid sports fan and loved giving back to the community and mentoring youth. John could often be found rocking out to Tom Petty and his other favorite artists.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia (Lane) Hammon.
John is survived by his sons, Patrick Hammon and Nicholas Hammon; father, John (Rhonda) Hammon, Sr.; sister, Pamela (William) Heming; fiancé, Melissa Cherry; and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday, May 20, 2022 at Schoedinger Grove City, 4242 Hoover Rd., (HOOVER RD AT KINGSTON AVE), Grove City.
Additional Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at Moore Family Funeral Homes, 6708 Main St. Newtown, OH 45244. Vistiaton will be from 10AM to 12PM Noon, with a Funeral Service starting at 12PM Noon. Burial to follow at Graceland Memorial Gardens, 5989 Deerfield Rd. Milford, OH 45150.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association (https://www.heart.org/en/) and/or the Rheumatology Research Foundation (https://www.rheumresearch.org/).
