John Han

John Han, a loving husband, brother, father, and friend passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, August 28th, 2025. John was born on May 2nd, 1954, and was raised in Kalihi. As a young man he joined the US Army then returned to civilian life where he worked for the City and County of Honolulu many years. John also became a reserve member of the 442nd-100th Battalion as a Light Weapons Infantryman. He then met his beautiful wife of 43 years, Sandra Nunies (deceased) and spent decades traveling the world together. He was an avid San Francisco 49er's fan and had an affinity for the city of Las Vegas! John was a loving stepfather to his daughter, Lander Lagon (husband Michael) and son, Matthew Fitzsimmons (wife Lena). He found joy in spending time with his many grandchildren: Shameryn, Sierra, Sheena, Sloan, Savannah, and Nikole Lagon; Nalu Porter, Maleko Uehara and Kamaki Enos, and absolutely loved his 14 great-grandchildren and two great- great-grandchildren. John is survived by his sister, Linda and the rest of the Han ohana. His life was full of aloha and cherished friendships with all that knew him. He will be dearly missed and forever loved. A private family celebration of his life will be held in honor of both him and his beloved wife.
