John H. Hansen

John H. Hansen of Plymouth formerly of Randolph passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on October 15, 2023, at the age of eighty-four. He was the beloved husband of Joanne (LaVallee) Hansen; the loving father of Christine Hansen of Florida, Eileen Rota and her husband Anthony of Carver, Kurt Hansen and his wife Kathleen of Quincy, Mark Hansen of Rhode Island, and Scott Hansen and his wife Tami of Easton; the cherished grandfather of Jeremy, Matthew, and Jessica Grey, John, and Christopher Rota, Tori and Cole Hansen, Cooper and Jesse Hansen, Jack, Sean, and Caroline Hansen. He was the brother of Robert Hansen of Falmouth, and Carol Wahl of Connecticut. He is also survived by extended family including Karen and John (Duke) Whitney of Braintree, Ed and Kathy LaVallee of New Hampshire, Gary LaVallee of New Hampshire, and many nieces and nephews who loved Uncle Johnny and have special memories of summers at the Hansen pool.
John was born in Braintree on October 10, 1939, to the late Hilding and Elsie (Bergfors) Hansen. He grew up in Braintree, raised his family in Randolph, and moved to Plymouth with Joanne five years ago but enjoyed winters in Naples, Florida. John was a United States Navy veteran. He had worked for Charles T. Main and Stone & Webster before starting his own successful business as a General Contractor. He was a member of the Randolph Elks Lodge for many years. John loved traveling with his wife, spending time with his children, grandchildren, and friends, and making people laugh. He had a sharp wit and was known to stir things up when he could. John and Joanne are blessed to have a close and supportive circle of friends who helped keep his spirits high to the very end. Joanne is the love of his life and they recently celebrated 60 years together in marriage.
The family invites you to join them for a period of visitation on Thursday, October 19, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Cartmell-Davis Life Celebration Funeral Home, 150 Court Street, Plymouth. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 20, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
