John Heller

John Heller, 90 years old, passed away on December 19, 2023 at Newton Medical Center after a long illness. Born to Frank and Mary Heller in Franklin, NJ, he was a lifelong resident.
John attended college and received his BS in Civil Engineering, he also served with the United States Army, where he was a Korean War veteran. John owned and operated VJ's Liquors in Franklin, NJ for 35 years before retiring. John was a member of the Franklin Revolver and Rife Association as well as the National Rifle Association. His pistol shooting earned him a spot in the Sussex County Hall of Fame for Pistol Shooting as well earning him a spot on the Olympic team.
John is predeceased by his wife, Helen Viola Heller (2012) and is the dear uncle of Randy Filipowski of Unionville, NY, Brenda Bowling of Cincinnati, OH, Jeanne Mott of Bernardsville, NJ, and Kathy Vaccaro and her husband, Joe of Naples, FL, and great uncle of Jason Washer and his wife, Kelly of Newton, NJ. He also leaves behind many other loving great-nieces and nephews.
