John Henon Obituary

John Edward Henon, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at the age of 83, in his hometown of Louisville, Kentucky.

Born on July 19, 1941, John was welcomed into this world by his parents, the late Eddie Henon and Edna (Cockerel) Henon VanHoy. He was a cherished brother to the late Joseph K. Henon, Sr., Mary L. Roof, Philip V. Henon, and a father to his late daughter, Johnny Sue Phipps.

John's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love and devotion. He shared 50 wonderful years with his loving wife, Sandra Henon, who was his steadfast partner through all of life's journeys. Together, they nurtured a family that became the heart of their existence. John leaves behind his sons—John (Ashley), Eddie, Jesse (Ina), and Dino—along with a vibrant group of grandchildren who brought him immense joy: Braydon, Jessilyn “Pookie,” Isabella, Brianna, Evan, Austin, James, Jimmy, Joshua, Kenny, Tiffany, Dino Jr., and Tausha. He is also survived by his dear sister, Ruth Ann Schaaf.

John was a true force of nature, known for his warmth, kindness, and unwavering love. His spirit resonated through his affectionate nature, whether as a devoted husband, a dedicated father, or a doting "Pappaw" to his babies He had an undeniable passion for life, especially when it came to cheering on his favorite team, the University of Kentucky Wildcats. The laughter and memories created will be cherished by all who loved him deeply.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, November 11th, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, located at 10304 Dixie Hwy. A funeral service will be at 6:00 PM that same evening.

In honoring John's memory, the family kindly requests contributions to assist with final expenses.
