John Andrew Higgins

John A. Higgins, age, 71 of New Haven, passed away on December 9, 2024, with his loving wife by his side. He was born on August 19, 1953, in Detroit, Michigan to the late John and Mary Higgins. He married Annette Sheadrick, on January 6, 1987, in Chesterfield Township.
John Andrew Higgins, affectionately known to family and friends as Johnny, JB, and Jay was fun loving, outgoing and an avid sports fan who participated in boating, basketball and baseball. He also loved to play cards with his family and friends. John attended and graduated from Northwestern High School in Detroit, MI and went on to work at Chrysler's Dodge Truck Assembly plant where he retired after 35 years. John Is survived by his wife Annette Sheadrick Higgins of New Haven, MI, his son Henry Higgins (Anna) of New Haven, MI, daughter Tanya Griffith (Fabian) of Southfield, MI, daughter Danielle Brooks of Detroit, MI, daughter Veranda Rucker of New Haven, MI, son Demarco Sheadrick of New Haven, MI, sister Linda Henry of Oak Park, MI, sister Jasquella Jones (William) of Auburn Hills, MI, brother Michael Higgins of Detroit, MI, a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
John was preceded in death by his father John, his mother Mary, his sister Madeline Rhodes, and his son Sean Higgins.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date
Visitation will be held on Friday - December 13, 2024 from 12:00pm until 6:00pm in the Jowett Funeral Home - 57737 Gratiot, New Haven. There will be a closing prayer at 6:00pm. Burial will be in Centennial Cemetery.
