John "Jack" Calvin Isacson September 1, 1942- August 7, 2025 Jack Isacson (82), of New Brighton, passed away August 7th, 2025. Born in Oak Park, Illinois to Howard and Blanche Isacson, Jack was the youngest of two sons. The family resided in Berwyn, and many aunts, uncles and cousins lived nearby. Jack enjoyed playing Little League, golfing and his model railroads. After graduating from J. Sterling Morton High School in 1960, he went to Morton Junior College and University of Illinois, earning a degree in Electrical Engineering. Following college, Jack moved to St. Paul, where he met Jean through mutual friends in 1965. They were married on November 26, 1966 and settled in New Brighton. They became members of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and raised their three children - Jill, Jennifer and Jeff. Jack worked as a Quality Engineer at Unisys for most of his career and served as the Unisys liaison for Greater Twin Cities United Way. After his retirement from Unisys, he worked as a Loaned Executive for United Way. Jack was involved in many organizations. In 1972, he became member #1213 in the Beer Can Collectors of America (BCCA, and now Brewery Collectibles Club of America) and served as BCCA President in 1998. His volunteer services with the BCCA's North Star Chapter helped their annual Guzzle 'n Twirl show in Minnesota to become one of the hobby's most highly attended breweriana shows in the country. Jack was always on the go. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, and both playing and umpiring softball. As a family, they spent winters skiing and summers camping. Jack was an avid sports fan, and at one point had attended a game in every MLB park in the country. He was very involved in activities with his children including YMCA Princesses and Guides, ski club, marching band booster club and chaperoning band trips. Jack and Jean volunteered together at St. John's Food Shelf and enjoyed many trips, traveling to all 50 states, all ten Canadian provinces, and visiting all seven continents. His favorite trips were to Antarctica and South Africa. Family was a priority for Jack, and he often traveled for special occasions and holidays. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren's concerts and sporting events. He and Jean also created life-long friendships and memories with their neighborhood friends who became family. A special thank you to the St. John's Sunday morning donut crew for their fellowship and kindness over the years. Preceded in death by wife of 57 years, Jean; parents, Howard and Blanche; brother, Dan; and daughter-in-law, Jaime.
