John Kenneth Johnson, a cherished father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on January 11, 2026, at the age of 66. Born on July 9, 1959, in
Bay City, Michigan, John's life was one of service, laughter, and adventure. His warm presence and optimistic spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
John's journey began as a young boy growing up on the Rifle River, where he eagerly anticipated the annual sucker run, a tradition that remained dear to his heart throughout his life. His love for the outdoors extended to his passion for golfing, hunting, and fishing, activities that brought him joy and peace.
A proud graduate of Au Gres Sims, John carried the values of hard work and dedication into every facet of his life. His sense of adventure and desire to serve led him to join the Navy, where he took great pride in being a Seabee. Later in life John discovered his rewarding vocation of working in the hospital, particularly around the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The time he spent working there was a source of profound fulfillment.
John's sense of humor and love for life were infectious. He approached every day with a sense of wonder and the belief that the best was yet to come. His adventurous spirit inspired those around him to embrace life's journey with enthusiasm and courage.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, survived by his Mother Jessie J (McFarlane) Johnson, daughter, Amanda Kay Johnson, and his grandson, Parker. His brothers, Steve Johnson, Roland (Sue) Johnson, Gary (Kathy) Johnson, and Tim (Deb) Johnson, will fondly remember him as a guiding force, full of wisdom and wit. John's many nieces and nephews will also hold dear their memories of their fun-loving uncle.
John was preceded in death by his father Roland J. Johnson, and his sister, Kim Johnson. The values they instilled in him were evident in the way he lived his life and, in the character, he exhibited every day.
John Kenneth Johnson's story is one of a life well-lived, filled with courage, humor, and a boundless capacity to love. As we bid him farewell, we take comfort in the countless happy memories he has given us, the lives he has touched, and the laughter he has shared. His spirit will continue to guide and inspire us, just as the stars he once navigated by as a Seabee continue to light the night sky. John's journey on earth has ended, but his story will be told for generations, a testament to a life of service, joy, and love.
Per John's wishes cremation has taken place with no services planned at this time. Arraignment's have been entrusted to the Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home
