John C. Kerns

John C. Kerns, age 87 of Parkersburg, WV formerly of Moundsville and a former resident of Glen Dale, WV passed away Friday, December 12, 2025 in Parkersburg, WV.

He was born August 6, 1938 in Glen Dale, WV the son of the late John A. and Sophia Gunto Kerns.

John was the owner of the former Home Electric on 7th Street in Moundsville, WV; a once active member of the Marshall County Chamber of Commerce where he received the Lifetime Achievement Award and a US Army Veteran.

He was a member of the American Legion, Earl Francis Post #2 and the First Presbyterian Church in Moundsville where he served on various boards and committees.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Reich Kerns; an infant son; and a sister, Marsha Head.

Survivors include two daughters, Donna Kerns of Moundsville and Diana (Bruce) Boston of Vienna, WV; two grandsons, Steven (Emily) Boston of South Charleston, WV and Charles Boston of Vienna; and a great grandson, Rowan.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6-8pm and on Wednesday from 12noon until the time of the funeral service at 1pm at Grisells Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Avenue, Moundsville, WV with Rev. Alan Jeffries officiating and where the Moundsville Honor Guard will conduct military services.
